The first country day school in the region, MPCDS is of interest for its varied curriculum, which focuses on the individual and society. The college preparatory program emphasizes academics, and the fine arts program is an integral part of the humanistic education. Faculty promote the development of writing skills and the clear expression of ideas. Advanced Placement courses and electives are available in all subject areas. Upper school students purchase tablet computers for classroom use. Pupils may engage in summer study in France or Spain. Boys and girls in grades 9-12 accumulate 50 hours of required community service. The school occupies 14 acres, two of which provide open land for athletic playing fields. Country Day offers interscholastic competition from grade 7.
