McLean School of Maryland

8224 Lochinver Ln, Potomac, MD 20854

Founded by local businesspersons and parents Delbert and Lenore Foster, McLean conducts a flexible academic program that addresses the needs of a broad range of learners. After many years of serving children in grades K-9, the school extended its program through the high school years by adding grade 10 in 2000, grade 11 in 2001 and grade 12 in 2002. The lower school (grades K-4) and the middle school (grades 5-8) curricula emphasize language arts and math and include art, music, computer and daily physical education classes. Upper school classes are departmentalized, with both English and literature studies provided. Art, music and computer are among the requirements.
