Maur Hill-Mount Academy
1000 Green St, Atchison, KS 66002
This Benedictine boarding and day school assumed its present name upon the 2003 merger of Maur Hill Preparatory School, a boys' school founded in 1919 by the monks of St. Benedict's Abbey, and Mount St. Scholastica Academy, a girls' school established in 1863 by the Benedictine Sisters. The college preparatory curriculum combines grade-level requirements with various electives. Spiritual activities form an integral component of school life: MH-MA conducts a schoolwide Mass at least once a month, and each class embarks on an annual retreat. Students satisfy a 20-hour community service requirement each year.
