Marymount International School

Via di Villa Lauchli 180, 00191 Rome, Italy

Founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary and part of the worldwide network of Marymount schools, the school provides a US-style curriculum that also includes International Baccalaureate programming. During the elementary years, classroom instructors teach the core subjects of language arts, math, science, social studies and religion, while specialists provide lessons in art, music, Italian language and physical education. ESL classes serve children lacking proficiency in English, and a learning specialist assists those with specific learning needs. Electives supplement course requirements in grades 10-12, and boys and girls pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma in grades 11 and 12. Field trips, which make use of the school’s accessibility to the center of Rome, provide enrichment at all grade levels. Artistically inclined students may enter their work in local art competitions, while interested boys and girls are able to participate in Model UN.
