Marymount High School

10643 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90077

Founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Marymount emphasizes leadership skills, critical thinking and writing at all grade levels. The curriculum includes honors or Advanced Placement courses or both in all subject areas, and qualified girls may also engage in independent study projects. An extensive elective program allows students to pursue interests in such areas as oceanography, engineering and robotics, journalism and photography. Each girl receives a laptop computer upon enrollment for the cost of an annual technology fee. Drama productions, musicals, stage crew, talent shows, chorus, dance, instrumental music, photography and studio art are among the fine arts options, and girls may also take part in athletics and coeducational social activities. In addition, an active campus ministry program features class retreats and a community service requirement of 100 cumulative hours over four years.
