Linsly School Linsly School

Founded in 1814, The Linsly School is a private, independent day and boarding school for students in grades 5 through 12. Located in Wheeling, West Virginia, we offer a college preparatory curriculum that combines the traditional values of hard work, respect, honor, honesty, and self-discipline within a challenging academic program designed to unlock the potential of each student.

The family-like atmosphere at Linsly helps students grow and develop under the guidance of faculty members who know them by name and care about their future. Whether it happens over lunch, dinner, or in evening study hall, learning at Linsly never ends.

Linsly is a place where life-long friendships between students and faculty are formed. Student uniforms are not to encourage conformity, but to ensure that students are known for their unique ideas and abilities. We are a school where long-forgotten traditional values live on in our everyday curriculum.

With 100% college placement, Linsly’s record as an excellent college preparatory academy speaks for itself. We understand that there is something more to education than test scores and college acceptance letters. Every day, our students live many of life’s most important principles: responsibility, commitment, time management, sportsmanship, maturity, and even disappointment.

Our “no quit” policy teaches students to finish what they start and to follow through with their commitments.

The education a student earns at Linsly is both deep and lasting because life’s lessons continually emerge. The Linsly experience fosters life-long learning that will prepare students for college and life.

With need-based financial aid and scholarship opportunities available, Linsly is an affordable choice and an excellent investment. At Linsly, we work with our students and families to assess their needs and to provide a top quality education at a reasonable cost. A Linsly education is an investment in the future.
