Leysin American School in Switzerland
1854 Leysin, Switzerland
Students at this American-administered school may prepare for entrance into US colleges. The curriculum includes the IB Diploma Program and a comprehensive ESL program. Pupils come in significant numbers from the US, as do faculty members (except for European language teachers). Physical education (including a variety of winter and summer sports), publications, clubs and hobby groups supplement the academic program, which is further enriched by field trips and weekend excursions. The school arranges special cultural tours for students unable to go home during the Easter holiday. LAS is located at the edge of the health and ski resort of Leysin, at an altitude of 5000 feet, above the Rhone Valley and Lake Geneva. Geneva, European headquarters of the UN, is approximately 90 minutes away by car.
