Kirby Hall's elementary curriculum features innovative approaches to phonics, grammar and composition, and math. In the upper school, students choose from a selection of Advanced Placement courses beginning in grade 10. The school makes extensive use of its proximity to the University of Texas-Austin: Starting in grade 4, pupils conduct research at the university's library and in its databases, and boys and girls attend various exhibits and performances at the institution as well. Upper schoolers may travel abroad to such locations as Australia, Italy, Costa Rica, France, Spain, England and Greece.
