Kinkaid School

201 Kinkaid School Dr, Houston, TX 77024

The oldest coeducational independent school in the city, Kinkaid was founded by Margaret Hunter Kinkaid, who originally operated the school out of her home. In 1957, the school assumed its present, 65-acre location in Piney Point Village. From its early days, the school has placed emphasis upon both academic attainment and character development. Kinkaid combines rigorous academics with well-developed programs in athletics and the fine and performing arts. Upper schoolers take part in a three-week interim program each January that consists of various enrichment courses, independent study opportunities, internships and travel options.
