1 Jacoby Pl, Rockford, IL 61107

Founded by artist Belle Emerson Keith, the school occupies a 15-acre campus overlooking the Rock River. Serving students from northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, Keith introduces both Spanish and French in preschool and teaches the languages to all students through grade 5; Latin is added in grade 6. In the upper school, requirements include fine arts, computers, foreign language, speech, and research and reference, and Advanced Placement courses are offered. In addition, all pupils and faculty in grades 6-12 utilize laptop computers. A senior project is compulsory. A student volunteer program requires each student to perform 90 hours of community service during the four high school years, and all are encouraged to participate in team sports, the fine arts and other after-school activities.
