John F. Kennedy School, American School of Queretaro
Ave Sabinos 272, Jurica Campestre, 76100 Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico
Founded by industrialists from Mexico and the US who were residing in the Queretaro area, JFK conducts bilingual elementary and secondary curricula. As most children enroll from Mexico, the school provides intensive English immersion during the three-year preschool program. In grades 1-12, students follow a dual curriculum: Classes are taught in Spanish for half of the school day, while course work during the remainder of the day features English as the language of instruction and adheres to the US system. JFK provides special Spanish and English courses for pupils lacking fluency in either of the two languages. In addition to the standard subjects, the curriculum includes music, art, computation, technical drawing and physical education classes. Boys and girls study Mexican and American culture at all grade levels.
