International School of Turin
Vicolo Tiziano 10, 10024 Moncalieri, Turin, Italy
Employing an international curriculum, this English-language school satisfies requirements of the American high school diploma and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Children progress from the early childhood program (which begins at age 3) to an elementary division (grades 1-5) that teaches boys and girls to express themselves and apply their knowledge in various ways with the aid of such approaches as small-group work, classwide projects, and individualized activities and field trips. The middle school (grades 6-8) seeks to develop a foundation for future learning in the major disciplines and in several foreign languages. Middle schoolers may also enroll in a program that prepares them for the Italian national exams. The high school program (grades 9-12), which emphasizes college preparation in a small-class setting, culminates in the two-year IB Diploma.
