International School of Stavanger

Treskeveien 3, 4043 Hafrsfjord, Norway

Established by representatives of major oil companies operating in the North Sea, ISS draws the majority of its students from families associated with the oil industry and a local NATO base, but enrollment is open to all English-speaking pupils. The curriculum is internationally based, and elementary students work in traditional self-contained classrooms. The secondary school's college preparatory curriculum, which features advanced courses and independent study, offers both the IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Stavenger administers a number of testing programs, in addition to school examinations. Graduates matriculate at competitive universities throughout the world. Stavanger's 15-acre site is a short distance from the city center.
