c/o US Embassy, 01 BP 35, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

Serving the needs of the American community and children of other diplomatic and development mission representatives from approximately 30 nations seeking an English-language education, the school offers a US curriculum at the elementary and secondary levels. ISO administers a test each February to gauge basic skill improvement, and boys and girls may take the PSAT, SAT, ACT and Advanced Placement examinations during the high school years. Math and reading are individualized by level. Other subjects are grouped according to grade; offerings include science, math, French, humanities and literature classes. Frequent overnight and local field trips complement academic work. ISO also conducts a student-exchange program and an active extracurricular program.
