International School of Geneva (Ecole Internationale de Geneve)

62 Rte de Chene, 1208 Geneva, Switzerland

Founded by staff of the League of Nations as the world's first international school, this institution also offered the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program before any other school. Today, the IB continues to form the basis of the senior secondary school's college preparatory program. Pupils in the IB program may earn their diplomas in French, English or a combination of the two. The school prepares students for several exams and also grants the American high school diploma. Boys and girls of varying ability levels enroll, and a support program serves individuals with learning difficulties. French and English courses are compulsory at the secondary level, while German, Italian and Spanish classes are part of the language program. The school occupies three campuses. La Grande Boissiere, located in Geneva, is the largest of the three. Another secondary school location, La Chataigneraie, is 15 miles away in Founex. The newest campus, Des Nations, serves elementary and secondary students at two sites adjacent to the United Nations in Geneva.
