International School Moshi

PO Box 733, Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

Founded to provide education for the children of expatriate personnel working in Tanzania, the school has grown to occupy two sites: the Moshi campus accommodates day and boarding students in grades pre-K-12, while the Arusha campus serves day pupils in grades pre-K-8. Children in grades K-8 follow an English-medium curriculum with African and international perspectives; ninth and tenth graders take IGCSE courses; and students in grades 11 and 12 take part in the school's IB program. Special needs and ESL and EFL assistance is available as needed. At all levels, there is an emphasis on environmental education and practical service, and music, drama and computers are noteworthy elements of the program. Pupils engage in various outdoor pursuits, as the school makes use of Mount Kilimanjaro and the environment of northern Tanzania. In addition, ISM operates a field studies center on the Indian Ocean coast.
