IC utilizes English, French and Arabic as languages of instruction, depending upon which track the student chooses. Programming follows American, French and Lebanese curricular lines, preparing boys and girls in the various sections for the International, French and Lebanese baccalaureates, as well as the US College Boards. A three-year curriculum that begins in grade 10, the College Preparatory Program, offers a US-style program with course requirements in math, science, English, social studies, French and Arabic. Founded in Izmir, Turkey, International College moved in 1936 to Lebanon, where it administered the preparatory section of the American University of Beirut. Affiliation with AUB ended in 1957, although the school continues to occupy part of the campus.
