Institut Le Rosey

Chateau du Rosey, 1180 Rolle, Switzerland

International from its founding, the school enrolls boys and girls from approximately 60 countries. Among the alumni are counted kings, princes and illustrious persons from the United States. Students must complete an entrance exam and furnish a school transcript prior to admission. All subjects are taught in both French and English, as the school expects pupils to be fully bilingual. The program meets the requirements of the French Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate. American graduates typically enter competitive colleges in the US. Extracurricular activities include music, the fine arts, carpentry, daily assemblies, debates, lectures, and other cultural and social events. Placing great stress on physical education, the school offers a full athletic schedule. The 13th-century Chateau du Rosey, as well as four other buildings and extensive athletic facilities, occupies the 70-acre campus in Rolle, a small town on the shores of Lake Geneva, midway between Lausanne and Geneva. For the winter term, the school moves to its Gstaad campus in the Bernese Oberland.
