Hoosac School

Pine Valley Rd, PO Box 9, Hoosick, NY 12089

Hoosac's curriculum encompasses a wide range of academic skills and includes advanced work, independent projects and tutorials, in addition to formal classes. Classes are held six days each week with five-day breaks in the middle of each trimester and three-week vacations in winter and spring. Hoosac utilizes a mastery education approach whereby the student may retake an exam until he or she exhibits sufficient mastery of the subject matter. An advisor system and a low student-teacher ratio are important aspects of the school's program. All students perform at least 10 hours of community service prior to graduation. In addition to a varied selection of varsity sports, Hoosac offers a skiing and snowboarding program.
