Harpeth Hall School
3801 Hobbs Rd, Nashville, TN 37215
Founded as a successor to The Ward-Belmont School, Harpeth Hall conducts a rigorous liberal arts curriculum complemented by more than a dozen AP courses, independent study, academic travel, work-study and community service. The school employs an interdisciplinary team-teaching approach in which teams are organized horizontally by grade and vertically by subject. Pupils borrow school-owned laptop computers in grades 5 and 6, rent tablets in grades 7 and 8, and purchase their own tablets for use in grades 9-12. A winterim program for three weeks each January provides opportunities for students to learn and achieve outside the classroom and in nontraditional areas: girls in grades 9 and 10 engage in focused seminars, while upperclassmen choose from off-campus work/study internships, independent study options and academic travel-abroad opportunities. The fine arts program features visual and performing arts pursuits that range from photography and art to dance and theater. Harpeth Hall encourages girls to participate in both extracurricular activities and community service. A collaborative program with Montgomery Bell Academy augments the available curricular and extracurricular offerings and resources.
