Harare International School
66 Pendennis Rd, Mount Pleasant, Harare, Zimbabwe
Located on a 22-acre campus in Mt. Pleasant, a northern suburb of Harare, HIS provides an internationally oriented elementary and secondary program that borrows elements from the American system. Beginning with an early childhood section and running through grade 5, the inquiry-based elementary school follows the curricular framework of the IB Primary Years Program. Children gain an introduction to information technology and French during these years. The transitional middle school (grades 6-8) serves as a bridge between a self-contained learning environment and a more structured departmentalized program. High school students further refine the time-management and study skills that they developed in middle school. Boys and girls prepare for college while following a curriculum that culminates in the two-year IB Diploma Program.
