146 W Walnut Ln, PO Box 25639, Philadelphia, PA 19144

Green Tree provides a therapeutic and academic program for children and youths who have been diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances, neurological impairments or both. Many have displayed several behavioral problems that have prevented them from succeeding in traditional settings. In addition to receiving instruction in basic academics, students participate in movement therapy and physical education. Twice a year, staff members comprehensively evaluate a student's progress and restructure the program accordingly. Parental participation is encouraged at all levels. The usual length of stay at Green Tree is three to five years, with pupils then proceeding to a regular public school, a more advanced special school, a vocational facility or college. The school accepts the following conditions: Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Emotional Disturbances, Pervasive Development Disorder.
