Grace Church School
86 4th Ave, New York, NY 10003
Established as a choir school for boys and still an integral part of Grace Church, GCS has evolved into a coeducational school. Ethical and scholastic development and Judeo-Christian beliefs are emphasized, and upper school students perform regular community service. The curriculum features enrichment opportunities in computer, music, art and drama, as well as various electives in the upper grades. All children in the racially and religiously diverse student body attend chapel and take courses in the Bible, world religions and ethics. The after-school program serves as an extension of the academic day and also includes the arts and sports. Students in grades 7 and 8 have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs with families in India, Japan, France, Spain and China. After operating as a pre-preparatory school for more than a century, GCS opened a high school division in 2012 at a separate campus in Cooper Square.
