Coeducational from its founding, Gould is situated adjacent to the White Mountain National Forest. Students enroll from many states and foreign countries. The college preparatory program combines traditional curricular elements with forward-looking electives. Honors and Advanced Placement courses in most disciplines are available for talented students, and qualified pupils may pursue independent studies in fields of interest to them. Ninety-minute class blocks facilitate in-depth inquiry in humanities, social science and laboratory science courses. Special offerings include experiential education programs; exchange programs with schools in Germany, France, Spain and Hungary; a university-level computer network; and noteworthy programs in the visual arts, science and technology. The school's location allows for an extensive outdoor program and a strong winter sports program.
