Girls Preparatory School

205 Island Ave, PO Box 4736, Chattanooga, TN 37405

Founded by Grace McCallie, Tommie Duffy and Eula Jarnagin, Girls Preparatory School offers a college preparatory curriculum with honors and Advanced Placement courses in all disciplines. A coordinate program with the McCallie School combines GPS' single-gender school with coeducational extracurricular and social activities in such areas as the performing arts. Students participate in community service projects throughout the year. Beginning in grade 8 students purchase laptop computers for use in the classroom and to connect to the campuswide wireless network. GPS schedules two optional trips over winter break for eighth graders and seniors.
