Three years after this long-established school introduced its International Baccalaureate Program in 1990, Gimnazija Bezigrad formed an international department to address the needs of foreign students enrolled in the IB Middle Years and IB Diploma programs. Pupils in grades 6-8 often have completed the first three years of the Middle Years Program at nearby Danila Kumar Elementary School. Diploma recipients matriculate at competitive European and American universities. The school is a short walk north from the center of Ljubljana.
