German Swiss International School
11 Guildford Rd, The Peak, Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Enrolling a student body that represents more than 30 nations, GSIS conducts both English- and German-speaking streams at the kindergarten, primary and secondary levels. German speakers work toward the German Abitur diploma, while English-speaking pupils engage in a British-style system that leads to the GCSE, AS- and A-level examinations. As GSIS is a German school, the program places significant emphasis on the German language, even in the international stream. Students may take French or Mandarin as a second foreign language. The secondary department, which is characterized by small classes and the incorporation of technology into the curriculum, seeks to develop such abilities as presentation and communicational skills. Local and overseas field trips enrich classroom work. School graduates typically matriculate at competitive colleges in Europe, North America, Australia and Asia.
