Garden International School
16 Jalan Kiara 3, Off Jalan Bukit Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
GIS bases its curriculum on the English National Curriculum, although modifications have been made to meet Malaysian requirements. The English system enables pupils to continue their education in other English-speaking countries without incurring an educational disadvantage. The kindergarten/early years department provides a curriculum that includes music, games, and arts and crafts. Upon reaching the primary department, students receive instruction in basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills. The lower secondary school curriculum follows the general direction of the British curriculum at ages 11-14. This helps prepare students for the IGCSE examination. The Sixth Form places particular emphasis on college preparation. Besides academic development, the school also stresses the importance of cocurricular activities as part of a balanced education. An array of clubs and societies is available.
