The academy provides comprehensive, family-oriented social, educational and behavioral health services for children with severe emotional disturbances. The elementary program stresses appropriate work habits to enable the child to return to or enter community schools. A psychotherapeutic, rehabilitative secondary program for adolescents emphasizes skills relevant to employment or mainstreaming to public schools. Vocational evaluation and counseling are available. Treatment typically lasts two to three years. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Conduct Disorder, Emotional Disturbances, Mood Disorder, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Pervasive Development Disorder, Psychosis, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
