Founded by local businessman Gideon Frost for "the children of Friends and those similarly sentimented," the academy continues to reflect Quaker educational principles. The college preparatory curriculum features Advanced Placement courses and an array of electives. Included in the technology curriculum is a one-to-one iPad program in grades 6 and 7. For three weeks in the spring, each senior pursues an off-campus independent service project that relates to a special interest. Service requirements for younger pupils are a service class during freshman year and a service trip during sophomore year. Students assist in decision making through the student-faculty board.
