Foothill Country Day School

1035 W Harrison Ave, Claremont, CA 91711

Founded by Howell and Betty Webb, FCDS provides a structured program that emphasizes a mastery of skills in reading and literature, writing, math, science, social studies, Spanish (in grades K-8) and Latin (in grade 6). Enrichment courses include computer technology, library skills, drama, music, art and physical education. Each grade produces an annual play, and pupils take active roles in the daily chapel program. In addition, students in grades K-7 participate in several community service projects, and eighth graders travel to Costa Rica to perform service at a selected school. FCDS conducts field trips for children at all grade levels, and after-school programs are available. Foothill also maintains a preschool division, The Seedling School, for children ages 3-5. This program balances developmentally appropriate instruction with creative play in a structured environment.
