Eleanor Gerson offers an alternative middle and high school experience for adolescents of average intelligence who, for various personal, behavioral or relationship reasons, have not had success in standard educational settings. The program comprises two separate schools, Gerson West School (grades 6-9) and Gerson High School (grades 9-12). The schools emphasize education within a personal and therapeutic milieu to bring about positive growth that accounts for individual needs and abilities. The school's downtown location gives students access to other education and cultural experiences, among them theater, ballet and other artistic performances. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, Emotional Disturbances, Mood Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Sexually Abused, School Phobia.
