Located on a hill overlooking Lake Geneva in the French-speaking region of the country, ENSR offers a bilingual program that has featured a growing concentration in English over the years. Children as young as age 3 take part in a Montessori nursery school and kindergarten. In the primary school, the program includes daily English lessons and the introduction of German in grade 4. The middle school program (grades 5-8) includes a common core syllabus of basic subjects, the continued study of German, and the addition of other foreign languages in grades 7 and 8. In the senior school, boys and girls may pursue either the Swiss national diploma or the IB Diploma. The International Baccalaureate program is unusual in that students take up to four subjects taught in English and up to four in French. Those wishing to attend US colleges may prepare for the SAT examination during the later years. Boarders choose from five- and seven-day options.
