ESSF conducts three distinct educational programs. The Child Development Center provides individualized, hands-on learning experiences for children from birth to school age who have various disabilities. Physical, occupational, speech and behavioral therapy is incorporated into the school day. Typical learners may also enroll in the program. Serving children in grades K-5 with autism spectrum disorders, the Autism Elementary Demonstration School offers bilingual (English and Spanish) special education that incorporates various teaching methods, materials and techniques. Staff maintain a multisensory setting and formulate an Individualized Education Plan for each student. Programming places particular emphasis on the development of auditory, fine-motor, visual and perceptual development. The Culinary Arts High School Program serves students ages 16-22 with autism, Down syndrome and other special needs. While completing course work necessary for a special diploma, boys and girls participate in culinary training both in the classroom and in the school's vocational kitchen. Course work addresses such culinary activities as sanitation, job preparation, store/stock room coordination and maintenance, and food preparation. Job coaches help graduates find and keep jobs in their fields. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Deafness, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Down Syndrome, Learning Differences, Pervasive Development Disorder, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Spina Bifida, School Phobia, Tourette’s Syndrome.
