Formed by the 1999 union of Theodor Herzl Jewish Day School (grades K-5) and Rocky Mountain Hebrew Academy (grades 6-12), this institution combines rigorous secular studies with Judaic studies. At this, the largest Jewish day school in the Rocky Mountain region, instructors place strong emphasis on language arts, math, science and social studies. Elective classes at DJDS include public speaking, drama, creative writing, sign language and art. Judaic studies, which address differing Jewish perspectives, focus on history, ethics and values, and Israel. Pupils learn Hebrew, study traditional and modern texts, and celebrate and learn more about holidays.
