The school's curriculum is designed to meet the needs of children with learning differences or other problems that lead to underachievement. In the elementary and middle schools, instruction focuses on language skills and mathematics in a structured, nurturing environment. High school programming includes the core curriculum; experiential, hands-on learning; and the following community service requirements: 20 hours annually in grades 9-11 and 25 hours during senior year. The academy's 22-acre campus is located near downtown; the Rocky Mountains provide opportunities for field trips and activities.
