The academy offers a psycho-educational program that serves children with emotional, behavioral and learning problems. Dearborn's blend of educational and clinical services is designed to help students identify and achieve individual goals, and to assume responsibility for their behavior. Programming emphasizes academic achievement, hands-on learning experiences, academic remediation, and social and emotional growth. The upper school curriculum includes a shop program and a transitional program that prepares students to assume productive roles in the community when they graduate. All students receive individual and group therapy, and family treatment is available both on site and in the community. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Emotional Disturbances, Learning Differences, Mood Disorder, Nonverbal Learning Differences, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
