Crystal Springs Uplands School
400 Uplands Dr, Hillsborough, CA 94010
Crystal Springs opened as an independent school for girls. In 1956, it moved to Uplands, the former Templeton Crocker estate in Hillsborough. The school now occupies the Renaissance-style mansion, its surrounding 10 acres and an academic building, a fine arts building and a gymnasium. Boys were first admitted to the school in 1977, and today the program is fully coeducational. The school conducts a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Boys and girls in grades 6-8 meet English, history, math, science and foreign language requirements. Freshmen and sophomores typically take five courses per semester, while upperclassmen generally enroll in four (due to increasingly difficult course work).
