Columbus School for Girls Columbus School for Girls

For 115 years, Columbus School for Girls (CSG) has been the central Ohio leader in the education of girls and young women. An independent college preparatory school, CSG serves girls pre-school through grade 12. Conveniently located just east of downtown Columbus, Ohio’s capital city, and drawing students from a 40-mile radius of central Ohio, CSG students reflect diverse academic, ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. An overall 9:1 student/faculty ratio ensures that students will receive attention appropriate to their academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being. CSG is characterized by challenging academics, enriching arts and athletics, supportive relationships, and a range of diversity.

The school’s new Wellness and Athletics Complex, comprised of an Aquatic Center, Fitness Center, and Wellness/Dance Studio, opened in September 2012. In March 2013, CSG broke ground on a 400-seat Performing Arts Center, expected to be complete in the spring of 2014.

Why choose an all-girls school?

Recent research has confirmed what we’ve known for over 100 years ─ that a single-gender educational environment is better for girls. Developing the confidence and self-knowledge of all students is central to our work. Consequently, the girls and young women of CSG embrace the opportunities and challenges of adolescence with a level of assurance and poise rarely seen in today’s society. Girls are always at center stage. They must participate, take charge and get involved. Graduates of girls’ schools are confident learners, critical thinkers, self-starters, and contributing team players.

Columbus School for Girls is accredited by the Independent School Association of the Central States and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, Ohio Association of Independent Schools, and the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools. In addition, CSG is a member of the Cum Laude Society, the College Board, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
