Cincinnati Country Day School
6905 Given Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45243
Located on a 62-acre campus in suburban Cincinnati, CCDS provides thorough college preparation for students that extends from early childhood through high school. The school conducts both Montessori and traditional programming for children ages 3-6. Technology is incorporated into every aspect of the curriculum, with all pupils having Internet and E-mail access, and each student in grades 5-12 being equipped with a tablet computer. Children gain exposure to physical education and the arts beginning in the early childhood program, and foreign language instruction commences in kindergarten. The lower school (age 18 months through grade 2) provides developmentally appropriate instruction designed to stimulate an interest in learning. Increased levels of independence and collaboration, as well as more advanced reasoning skills, are in evidence during the elementary school years (grades 3-5). Middle school programming (grades 6-8) particularly addresses the varying learning and social needs of young adolescents. The upper school curriculum (grades 9-12) readies students for college through an emphasis on critical thinking, problem solving and the application of knowledge to new situations. Boys and girls perform 90 hours of community service prior to graduation.
