Founded to serve the children of missionaries returning to work with the Church of Christ after World War II, CMIS conducts an English-medium, American-style curriculum grounded in a Christian worldview. Children in grades 1-6 who lack English proficiency attend regular classes and meet for daily one-hour ESL lessons. Thai language and culture instruction begins in kindergarten and continues through high school, while Chinese, French and Spanish classes are part of the curriculum in grades 7-12. The college preparatory high school curriculum features block scheduling, Advanced Placement courses and independent study options. Students in grades 9-12 perform 60 hours of community service prior to graduation.
