Chaminade College Preparatory

10210 Oakdale Ave, Chatsworth, CA 91311

Founded as Chaminade High School for Boys by Marianists seeking to expand their educational mission in southern California, the school added a middle school program in 1969 and a girls' division three years later. In addition to meeting course requirements in the traditional disciplines, students earn credits in such areas as critical thinking and composition, religious studies and expository composition. Boys and girls, who must perform community service each year, compile 60 cumulative hours prior to graduation. The middle school (grades 6-8) operates on Devonshire Street, while the upper school campus (grades 9-12) is in West Hills.
