Carson Valley provides children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances or behavioral problems with residential treatment and therapy, as well as educational, parental and personal counseling. Neither fire setters, children with severe drug or alcohol dependencies, nor severely to profoundly retarded youths are accepted. Average length of stay in the residential treatment program is 14 months; placement in the school program is also fairly short in duration. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Emotional Disturbances, Learning Differences, Mood Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
