2 I U Willets Rd, Roslyn, NY 11576

The school, one of the suburban schools founded by B. Lord Buckley and known until 1938 as Great Neck Preparatory, moved in 1955 from Great Neck to its present location with double the former acreage, as well as a new plant and facilities. Pupils develop basic skills in reading, mathematics and writing through a variety of teaching techniques and technologies. Mandarin and Spanish are introduced in prekindergarten, Latin in grade 7. Buckley schedules regular periods for art, music, physical education, library and computers. Laptop computers are issued to pupils in grades 7 and 8. Students in grades 5-8 participate in on- and off-campus community service projects. Physical education classes meet four times per week in prekindergarten through grade 8. Fall and spring interscholastic athletic competition begins in grades 5 and 6, with winter sports added in grades 7 and 8.
