British School of Brussels
19 Leuvensesteenweg, 3080 Tervuren, Belgium
Founded in Brussels and established in Tervuren the following year, BSB serves students of all academic ability levels who are interested in pursuing an English-medium education. The curriculum is based largely on the UK model and prepares boys and girls for the standard British examinations. In grades 11 and 12, students may prepare for either the A-level exams or the IB Diploma (including French and Dutch options). In fall 2011, BSB introduced a bilingual French and English program for children ages 4-8. Although roughly half of the student body hail from the United Kingdom, some 70 nationalities are represented at this nonselective school. Significant support is available for nonnative speakers of English.
