This small college preparatory school's concern for personal growth and development attracts students from dozens of states and foreign countries. The traditional college preparatory curriculum stresses an individualized approach to learning, facilitated by a low student-teacher ratio. In addition to its core classes, Brewster offers a variety of electives, among them visual and performing arts, computer graphics, performance poetry and freshwater ecology. Qualified pupils may also pursue Advanced Placement courses. An academic support department includes a writing center and an English as a Second Language program. Integrated technology enhances the curriculum: All students use laptop computers and connect wirelessly to the Brewster network and Internet at classroom workstations, in dormitories and in all campus buildings. Saturday classes convene biweekly. Located in a resort village, the 91-acre campus on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee provides the setting for a year-round sports program.
