Utilizing the resources of Boston University, BUA provides students with an integrated program that seeks to explore the ethical and historical dimensions of knowledge, in addition to requiring basic skill mastery and the learning of facts. The classically based core curriculum begins with a broad liberal arts introduction in grades 9 and 10, including two years of either Latin or ancient Greek. The program's accelerated pace enables pupils to enroll in undergraduate courses with BU faculty and students during junior year: up to two classes per semester in grade 11, up to four per semester in grade 12. All 12th graders enroll in a yearlong senior thesis research project. Students graduate with as many as 40 transferable college credits. All pupils perform 20 required hours of community service per year.
