Bishop Mackenzie International School
Barron Ave, Area 3, PO Box 102, Lilongwe, Malawi
This English-medium primary and secondary school models its program after the National Curriculum of England. During the primary years (grades pre-K-5), the course of studies includes specialist-taught French, music, art, computer and physical education classes. Course work in the secondary school (grades 6-12) prepares boys and girls for the IGCSE examinations, which students take annually. Bishop Mackenzie follows the IB Diploma Program in grades 11 and 12. In addition to ESL support, both primary and secondary pupils have access to special-needs services. Field trips form an integral part of the curriculum: The school organizes local trips to farms, tobacco auction floors and a nature sanctuary, among other destinations.
