Besant Hill School

8585 Ojai Santa Paula Rd, PO Box 850, Ojai, CA 93024

A project of the Happy Valley Foundation, a cultural organization established by political activist Annie Besant for educational purposes, this school occupies a rural campus on a 520-acre tract. After being known for 60 years as the Happy Valley School, Besant Hill assumed its present name, in honor of Dr. Besant, in July 2007. The varied program provides sound academic preparation, and Besant Hill maintains a community setting that stresses responsibility and mutual consideration. An active fine arts program supplements course work in the core subjects and constitutes an integral part of the school curriculum. Community service work consists of mandatory participation in service learning projects.
