Beacon Therapeutic Day School
1912 W 103rd St, Chicago, IL 60643
Beacon Therapeutic is a multi-service agency that provides behavioral and educational services for high-risk children and adolescents with multiple special needs. Local public schools place elementary and secondary students in Beacon Day School. These pupils' severe disabilities and attendant needs cannot be properly addressed in a public school setting. The goal of the educational program is to increase function to the point that the boy or girl can successfully return to a less restrictive school setting or to an employment or a vocational situation. Also available through the agency is outpatient programming for children who are experiencing emotional or behavioral problems at home or in the community. The school accepts the following conditions: ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Conduct Disorder, Discalculia, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, Emotional Disturbances, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Differences, Mood Disorder, Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Psychosis, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Speech/Languague Impairments, Sexually Abused, School Phobia, Schizophrenia.
